established in the autumn of 1986 upon the approval of the Ministry of Education through the preparation and planning by the Dean of the College of Science, the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Physics, the Department of Chemistry, the Departments of Life Science, the Department of Earth Sciences, and the science education scholars at the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). The doctoral program was established in 1986, and the first doctoral student cohort was recruited in the academic year 1987. The master\u2019s program was established in 1994, and the first master\u2019s student cohort was recruited in the academic year 1995.
