Tenure-Track/Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Hiring Announcement

Ⅰ. Position and number of hires: One tenured or non-tenured Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

Ⅱ. Qualifications:

1. Applicants must have obtained a Ph.D. in one or more research areas related to science education, mathematics and science education, or psychology. Preference will be given to those who are specialized in and whose research focuses on history and philosophy of science, technology and society, science communication, cognitive psychology, or neuroscience. Applicants must be able to teach all courses in English.

2. Applicants should meet one of the following requirements:

(1) An applicant should at least have two articles published in (or manuscripts accepted by) the journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, TSSCI, EI, A&HCI, or SCOPUS in the last three years. (A letter of acceptance must be provided to prove a manuscript is accepted.) The applicant should be either the sole author or the corresponding author of these two articles or manuscripts.

(2) An applicant should have conducted or been conducting at least two Ministry of Science and Technology (originally National Science Council) research projects as a principal investigator in the last three years.

(A publication that meets the above criteria may offset a research project that meets the above criteria, and vice versa.)

Ⅲ. Date of hire: February 1st (or August 1st), 2023

Ⅳ. Application deadline: August 12th, 2022 (This date is the last day to mail paper application documents. The postmark on the envelope of paper application documents serves as proof.)

Ⅴ. Required application documents:

1. Two hard copies of your doctoral degree certificate (If a degree was obtained from an overseas institution, a doctoral degree certificate and a full doctoral transcript must be verified by an overseas Taipei Economic and Cultural Office. An additional copy of both the translation of the certificate and the transcript should be provided.)

2. Two hard copies of your experience certificates

3. Two copies of your resume/CV (curriculum vitae)

4. Two copies of a list of your publications (Please indicate journal indexing databases, such as SCI, SSCI, and TSSCI.)

5. Three letters of recommendation

6. Two copies of your publications published in and after the year 2019.

7. Two copies of a list of your areas of specialization

8. Two copies of your course syllabi (3 to 6 courses written in both English and Mandarin Chinese.) (Please refer to Notes 1 and 2 below for more information and use the university’s syllabus format.)

Note:

1. Your syllabi must include 1 to 2 courses offered by the institute and 1 to 2 courses for the teacher education program.

Please include the institute’s ‘Core Competency Criteria’ in the syllabi. Please refer to the annex for those criteria.
